Crunch Time

Forgive me, dear readers. Please remain faithful...

I know the blog has been neglected lately, but the job change has provoked a substantial change in lifestyle:

  • I wake up earlier - yes it hurts!
  • I have a dual monitor setup - yes, it's the boss' subtle way of making me work more. But dang, I love it and can't seem to work half as well without it. It's like browsing the web without Firefox tabbed browsing, I can't imagine doing that anymore.
  • FireFox 1.5 is out - and I still haven't found the time to download it. For shame!
  • I try to have breakfast every day - either at home, Kurger Bing or DacMonalds
  • Sometimes my boss pays for lunch!
  • The amount of started, pending and finished tasks per day is astounding!
  • Sometimes I eat dinner at work...
  • I am programming (and learning as I go) with Microsoft Visual Studio - the horror, the horror! To tell you the truth I just make VS drop as close to metal as I can handle. I prefer to work with the code itself than do the visual dev thang.
  • Most days I do 10 hours of work - sometimes more.
  • I love my job,
  • I am happier...

It's crunch time. I am swamped with work right now. Perhaps next week the pace will slow down. I will pick up the slack in the blog then.

Meanwhile check this other blogs, these are the only ones I manage to stay current with lately. And to be extra annoying I will list them in my order of preference, and say why to boot!:

  1. Desentramados: Plazaola's blog just blows me away. It's the deeply personal, deftly written, emotionally charged blog I wish this blog of mine was.
  2. Cargas y Descargas: Edwin Vazquez's blog is like putting your hear to the ground and hearing the indian's, oops, I mean the taino's coming! It like tapping into the minds of Puertoricans at large.
  3. Tecno4All: I like Edwood's blog partly because of our mutual interest in open-source software, partly because Edwood seems to be the kind of knowledgeableness person I would like to be, and partly because he was the first person ever to contact me through my blog.
  4. Avaluo y Técnicas de Aprendizaje: Although it's sometimes WordPresss-centric, the wealth of information to be had in Mario's blog is astounding.
  5. Gil The Jenius: I should probably have listed this one higher, Gil being the only other blogger I've met in real life. But the Jenius's articles while always providing terrific insight and great food-for-thought are few and far between.
  6. DollyHouse: Because knowing the news is not the same as knowing what's happenin', also even though the page looks busy it still looks so much better than any other blog out there.
  7. Runner-Ups: Tinta Digital (great POV on a wide variety of subjects), Penny-Arcade (a staple of the gamer culture), Mini-Microsoft (you'd have to be me to know why I grin every single time I read this...)

That's it I can do no more today...

The information solder is at it with the lists again...
