Blogging Pains

I definitely didn't know what I was getting myself into when I decided to jump the gun and ditch Blogger. While I definitely still want a blog that reflects the knowledge I possess about open source software, I didn't know that migrating all my old content from Google's Blogger would be this hard.

I shouldn't feel too bad. Not even Wordpress (try it, it's open source!), blogging software's most widely used application, has a fast, foolproof, easy, way to migrate from Google's Beta Blogger.

I actually have all my old posts hidden over here. I did some hackery to make Drupal snatch all my content from Google's server. Alas, all the old comments are still over there. I think I will need to recur to some SQL scripting trickery to get those boys home. But that means devoting some quiet time, and I am seriously lacking time lately; not to mention the quiet type.

I've also tried, like I said earlier, to do some sort of mash-up; mixing my own blog posts with interesting news from across the web. If the hit counters are to be believed the experiment has not gone over too well, and I may need to spin these aggregated items into separate sections if I want to keep them. Again this takes time, so I won't be able to do that for the foreseeable future.

On top of all this I've been sick...

And I haven't been replying to your comments...

I've also not been keeping up with all the blogs I usually read...

But I'll get back on track, I always do.

Keep readin', you'll see.
