I had a Pentium MMX 166mhz with Windows 95 and a 28.8 baud modem when I discovered Slashdot. And it was through Slashdot that I first discovered Linux. Slashdot also redefined the concept of nerd and geek that I previously had.
Before I started to read Slashdot I thought I was geeky and nerdy. But man, the people on Slashdot where way over my head in hardcore geekyness and unprecedented nerdyness. read more »
